    India Beat New Zealand to Clinch Third Champions Trophy Title

    India cricket team has secured a four-wicket victory against New Zealand in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 to secure the title for the third time.

    Jadeja picked the match-winning four in the final ball of the 49th over with six balls to spare. The Men in Blues secured back-to-back ICC events after securing the title in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

    India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and became the first team to secure 3 Champions Trophy titles.

    Batting first, Rachin Ravindra and Will Young opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the attack. The Kiwi openers aimed for a solid start as they put pressure on Indian bowlers Shami and Hardik.

    In the 4th over of the inning from Hardik Pandya, Rachin Ravindra scored 16 runs in an over which gave momentum for the Kiwis.

    The young all-rounder got two lifelines with Shami and Shreyas Iyer dropping his catch in the seventh over.

    India who is desperate for a wicket, introduced Varun Chakravarthy to the bowling in the powerplay who bagged the wicket of Will Young for 15 runs.

    Willamson came to bat and the duo posted 69 runs in the powerplay. Kuldeep Yadav who was introduced to bowling in the 11th over, went on to pick the wicket of Rachin Ravindra on the very first ball for 37 runs.

    He once again picked a wicket of Kane Williamson in the 13th over due to which Kiwis lost three wickets for 75 runs.

    Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell are aiming to recover the side for top order collapse to balance the score in the board. By the end of 20 overs, New Zealand scored 101 runs for three wickets.

    With the duo slowly building their partnership, Jadeja picked wicket of Tom Latham for 14 runs on a lbw in the 24th over of the match.

    Glenn Philiips came to crease and joined Daryl Mitchell and forged a 50-run partnership and helped the side to cross 150 run mark.

    Phillips got dismissed for the 34 runs in Varun Chakravarthy’s delivery. On the other hand, Daryl Mitchell went on to score fifty in 91 deliveries.

    After the dismissal of Daryl Mitchell for 63 runs by Shami, Michael Bracewell scored 53* in 40 deliveries pushing the score to 251 runs in their fifty over innings.

    Indian opening batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made an impressive start while chasing. The duo added 64 runs in the first powerplay and went on to register the highest opening partnership of the Champions Trophy 2025.

    During the process, Rohit Sharma registered his maiden fifty of Champions Trophy 2025 in just 41 deliveries.

    While Rohit was seen as aggressive at one end, Shubman Gill executed a steady inning at the other end. At the end of 13 overs, India scored 76 without losing a wicket.

    With a steady knock from Gill and Rohit, India scored 103 runs without losing a wicket at the end of 18 overs. Right after the drinks break, New Zealand bounced back as Santner broke the century stand.

    In the fourth delivery of the 19th over, Santner dismissed Shubman Gill for 31 runs. In the very next over, Michael Bracewell dismissed Virat Kohli for just one run and brought New Zealand back into the game. At the end of 20 overs, India scored 108 runs for two wickets loss.

    Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer who understands the condition started to build a steady partnership but New Zealand spinners started to load pressure on the Indian batting lineup.

    Out of pressure, Rohit Sharma steps outside the crease to hit a maximum but ends up losing his wicket to Rachin Ravindra via stumping. With the required run rate starting to spike, Indian batters made a steady inning and managed to drag India to 136 for three wickets loss at the end of 30 overs.

    Indian batters struggled to face the New Zealand bowling line as the required run rate on the other end kept spiking. While Shreyas Iyer was cemented, Santner in the fourth delivery of the 39th over dismissed Iyer for 48 and broke the partnership.

    At the end of 40 overs, India managed to score 191 runs for four-wicket loss. While things were seen favouring India, Axar Patel lost his wicket to Michael Bracewell after scoring 29 runs.

    Hardik Pandya who came to bat scored 18 runs before being dismissed by Jamieson for 18 runs. Jadeja joined KL Rahul in the final moments to complete the run chase.

    KL Rahul remained unbeaten 34 while Ravindra Jaeja scored 9* runs while India completed the chase at Dubai.
