A brilliant knock from Ishan Kishan, along with the bowlers, has set up India to advance to the finals in the Asian Games 2026.
After his unbeaten 80, the bowlers ripped through Sri Lanka’s batting order as they were bowled out for 45 runs. With this win, India went to the finals to face Pakistan in a summit clash.
Batting first, India lost the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson for 7 runs each. Arachchige dismissed opener Abhishek, while Tharindu dismissed Sanju Samson.
Shreyas Iyer, who came to bat, joined Suryavanshi as India scored 58 runs in the powerplay. Arachchige bagged his second wicket, dismissing Suryavanshi for 38 runs.
With Sahan dismissing Iyer for 13 runs, India lost 4 wickets for 87 runs. While Axar Patel, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube lost wickets at intervals, Ishan Kishan went on to smash fifty and remained unbeaten with 80* runs.
By the end of 20 overs India went on to score 169/7 with Sundar and Ishan Kishan at crease.

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka lost the wickets of Sineth Jayawardene and Sohan de Livera for duck while Lasith was sent back to dug out on a run out. Sri Lanka lost three wickets for 2 runs.
Axar Patel who came to bowl the fourth over bagged the wickets of Sahan Arachchige and Ashen Bandara in the same over for 9 and duck.
Fernando was the highest scorer for the side scoring 15 runs while other got dismissed as Indian bowlers shattered Sri Lanka’s lineup.
In the 10th over, Sri Lanka lost all 10 wickets for 45 runs and become the second team to bowl out for the low score in the T20Is.
Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Abhishek Sharma bagged two wickets each. India will face Pakistan in the finals of the Asian Games 2026 played on October 03 at Nisshin.
