After picking the wicket of Rachin Ravindra in the very first ball of his over in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2025, he went on to pick the wicket of Kane Williamson for 11 runs in the 13th over of the match
Kuldeep was introduced to the bowling attack after the end of the powerplay. He went on to bag two big wickets to give an upper hand for India in the summit clash.
Having picked only a wicket in the ongoing tournament, Kuldeep Yadav extended his tally with a stunning performance on Sunday clash.
Batting first, Will Young and Rachin Ravindra opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack. The Kiwis made a solid start as they struck boundaries and sixes at regular intervals.
In the fourth over deliveries by Hardik Pandya, Rachin went on to slam a six and consecutive fours to amass 16 in a single over.
In the second ball of the 7th overs, Shami missed the catch of Ravindra. In the same over, Shreyas iyer dropped the catch of Rachin Ravindra giving a lifeline. Chakaravarthy dismissed Will Young for 15 runs and broke the 57 runs stand.
New Zealand scored 69 runs in the powerplay for a wicket. Kuldeep bowled a googly on the middle which Ravindra failed to pick. Ravindra goes on the back foot to punch but misses, the ball dislodges the bails at the end. He was dismissed for 37 runs with Kiwis lost two wickets for 69.

Speaking at the toss, Rohit Sharma said, “We’ve been here enough, batted first and bowled first, don’t really mind batting second. It hasn’t changed much, we’ve chased and won as well.”
“It does give you a lot of confidence, takes the toss away from the game. At the end of the day, what matters is how well you want to play.”
“That’s what we’ve spoken about in the dressing room, not to worry about the toss and to just play well, that’s what we’ve done and we have to do today as well.”
“New Zealand have been a very good team over the past so many years, they tend to play good cricket in ICC tournaments. The challenge for us is to play well against them now. Same team for us.”
