The Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended the central contract of Haris Rauf in a disciplinary action for pulling out of the Test series in Pakistan tour of Australia 2024.

Haris Rauf is currently ruled out of the ongoing PSL after his shoulder dislocation during a match. Regarding the reports from medical staff, the star pacer will require at least a month to recover from the injury.

Rana made a statement that PCB’s announcement was not good as it left an effect on the player’s psychological health.

“The timing of that announcement was wholly unnecessary. There was no Pakistan series coming up, or any emergency situation that necessitated the announcement two days before the PSL.”

“Whatever the logic was, the timing was really bad. It was a huge blow psychologically for him because his whole life’s main aim is playing for Pakistan,” said Rana on media.

“Rauf’s our premier bowler, our highest wicket-taker after Shaheen Afridi. To publicly humiliate him and issue a press release announcing the termination of his central contract, I have never seen this happen anywhere,” Rana said.

“I would never treat my employees like that. The employee at least has the right for you to call, email, or message them. None of that happened with Rauf, and it was pathetic. It was really poor management,” he added.

Following the injury, the player has been ruled out of the PSL 2024 season and may be missing the preparations for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to begin on June 02.

Coming to the tournament, Lahore Qalandars stands last in the PSL points table with six defeats out of seven matches they played in the tournament.

Lahore Qalandars will be playing against Islamabad United on PSL 2024 scheduled on March 06 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
