After Haris Rauf ignited a new controversy during India’s commanding 6-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s, his wife, Muzna Masood Malik’s, controversial social media post has also come under scrutiny.
The Super 4s clash between India and Pakistan has seen lots of emotions, with Haris Rauf engaging in provocative gestures that riled up Indian fans.
While fielding near the boundary rope, Haris Rauf made a hand gesture that appeared to symbolise Pakistan’s unverified claim of taking down 6 Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor.
He also mimicked a crashing plane, sparking outrage online. The provocation followed “Kohli, Kohli” chants from Indian fans, recalling Virat Kohli’s iconic two sixes against Rauf in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Muzna Masood Malik shared photos of her husband doing the ‘6-0’ gestures. She wrote, “Lost the match but won the battle.”
However, she apparently deleted the post after it has gone viral. Typically, Instagram stories stay up for 24 hours. But this one has already disappeared.

Apart from the controversial gesture, Haris Rauf had a heated exchange of words with Abhishek Sharma after Gill smashed a crisp boundary, forcing umpire Gazi Sohel to step in.
These actions were widely interpreted as a mocking response to India and their supporters, especially in the context of the long-standing rivalry between the two teams.
The gesture, combined with Haris Rauf’s interactions with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, has only added fiery atmosphere.
As the match progressed, Pakistan’s fiery approach on the field was matched by their lack of discipline, and India maintained composure to clinch a comfortable victory.
Some Indian fans compared her post with what Shivam Dube’s wife, Anjum Khan, shared on her Instagram story. Her appreciation post for India’s victory shows ‘calm dignity and positivity’, according to some users.
In the losing cause, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf picked two wickets for 26 runs in four overs he bowled. He opened his wicket with the bagging of the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav for a duck and then picked the wicket of Sanju Samson.
However, the game was dominated by India during the chase. In the pursuit of chasing a 172-run target, Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) made a stunning 105-run partnership for the first wicket.
His opening partnership with Gill has laid the base for India’s win during the match as Tilak Varma (30*) and Hardik Pandya (7*) sealed the win in 18.5 overs.
With still possibilities for India and Pakistan meeting in the finals are still alive, it is yet to unfold what remains to happen if the rivals meet in the summit clash of the tournament.
