The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to postpone the meeting to decide on the central contracts for the upcoming season and the England tour preparations which were slated to take place on March 29, Saturday.
A discussion about the senior men’s team was also on the agenda and no clarity about the new date for the meeting. The Board of Control for Cricket in India was set to meet with head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar to finalise the central contracts for the upcoming season and potential future test captain.
With Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja set to retain his A+ contract, the Indian captain is under scrutiny over the test future.
It is reported that star batter Virat Kohli had a chat with the BCCI selectors about his future in test cricket and it seems like the England tour could be make or break for the star batter.

It was also expected that a few new names would make an entry into the contracts list, as Shreyas Iyer is set to earn a recall. Iyer and Ishan Kishan who were opted out of central contract for 2024 season.
However, after his recent performance in Champions Trophy, Mumbai batter is all set to get back the central contract.
Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy who picked 9 wickets in three matches in India’s Champions Trophy triumph also set to receive contract.
Apart for central contracts, there is a high discussion of the test team after their recent run of poor form in the ongoing WTC cycle. Discussions on certain player’s availability and future in the longest format of the game with the upcoming England tour.
The Men in Blues are slated to play five tests in England with the first match set to begin on June 20 at Headingley.
