Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper batter Litton Das is set to miss the two-match test series against Zimbabwe after securing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the full season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025).
This has marked another example of players prioritising franchise cricket over national commitments, reigniting discussions in Bangladesh’s cricketing circles. The 30-year-old will be representing Karachi Kings in the upcoming PSL season.
Previously, Litton’s teammate Nahid Rana will be featuring for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL after playing the opening test against Zimbabwe. Rana was provided with partial NOC due to workload management.
Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain is also provided full NOC to play for Lahore Qalandars in the PSL as he is not part of the test setup.
The clash between national duty and franchise cricket has sparked debate in Bangladesh’s cricket fraternity. With several players receiving PSL contracts, the BCB faces a dilemma over balancing international fixtures and player aspirations.

Najmul Hossain emphasised the importance of allowing players to participate in global leagues. “Players should be given NOCs to play in different leagues,” he stated.
Earlier this month, Mehidy Hasan Miraz expressed confidence that the squad has enough experience to handle the transition following the recent retirement of key senior players.
The 27 year old all-rounder, who represented Bangladesh in over 180 matches across formats, is preparing to take on greater leadership within the team.
“Currently, there are six to seven players in the team who have been playing international cricket for 7-10 years. They can’t be considered new anymore,” Mehidy had said.
With Litton Das and Rishad Hossain unavailable for the Zimbabwe series, Bangladesh will be naming a squad, with a new option for the wicketkeeping department.
The selectors may also reconsider their spin options due to Rishad Hossain‘s unavailability.
The two match test series is set to begin lately in the month of April with the first test is set to begin on April 20 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The Second test will be played between April 28 and May 02 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
