Shivam Mavi Ruled Out of IPL 2024 Due to Injury

Shivam Mavi did not open up about the injury that he had suffered. Mavi hasn’t played a professional game since the Deodhar Trophy that took place on August 1. The injury forced the Indian pacer to miss the complete domestic season that followed.

“I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury,” Mavi said in the video.

Mavi, who last played a competitive match in August 2023, emphasized the importance of mental strength for a cricketer during times of injury.

“A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, you need to see what you have to do to make a comeback, what things you need to take care of,” he further added.

“We got a very good team, I will keep cheering for the team and hopefully, we will win,” he concluded.

Prior to this season, Mavi was a part of the Gujarat Titans that won the IPL 2022 trophy and remained a part of the same team in the IPL 2023 season. Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, GT released him and Lucknow Super Giants roped in him for a huge amount of INR 6.4 crore in the 2024 auction.
