    ‘You Were Trying to Break My Leg’ Rohit Sharma Impressed on Net Bowler in Dubai

    After the end of the nets session, Rohit Sharma had a fun chat with Awais Ahmad who attacked the skipper with some precise Yorkers during the practice sessions.

    The Indian team’s preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025 began with a few net sessions after the team landed in Dubai.

    The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya all trained hard to get accustomed to the conditions ahead of the start of the tournament.

    India captain Rohit faced a local left-arm pacer Awais Ahmad in the nets where he faced some serious inswing Yorkers.

    A viral video which was uploaded by Awais on his official social media handle, captured the 37 year old skipper, commending Ahmad’s skill. Ahmad’s ability to deliver precise inswing yorkers skipper’s attention.

    After the end of the nets sessions, “Class bowler. Aap humare joota… pair todne ki kosish kar rahe the inswinging yorker maar ke.”

    “Badiya bhai badiya. Aap log humko yaha help kar rahe ho, bada acha laga, thank you (You were trying to break my leg. Great bowling. I’m grateful that you all helped us here in training),” Rohit Sharma said in the viral video.

    Shubman Gill was also seen praising the bowler after the net session. Meanwhile, the Indian skipper has regained his form after struggling in test series against New Zealand and Border Gavaskar Trophy.

    With the Champions tournament is set to return after 8 years tournament, the team management highly anticipates to replicate heroics he displayed during 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup.

    His form could play a pivotal role in the India’s chances in the clinching Champions Trophy title. Placed in Group A, India will play their group stage matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

    As per the India’s Champions Trophy schedule, the Men in Blues will play first match against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium.
