The India Wk-batter Rishabh Pant has slammed his seventh test century on day 02 on England tour and surpassed MS Dhoni’s record of most test centuries.
His century comes after Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill’s centuries which helped the side to extent dominance in the first test of India’s tour of England 2025.
The vice captain has mixed steadiness with his aggression as he kept troubling Ben Stokes, Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir. With this ton he surpassed MS Dhoni‘s tally of six hundred.
He has now levelled with England’s Matt Prior, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, South Africa’s AB de Villiers and New Zealand’s BJ Watling in the number of centuries scored as a test wk-batter.
Rishabh Pant also has the most number of hundreds by a visting wk-batter in England. He has three tests tons in the UK while no other visiting wicketkeeper has more than 1 century to their name.

The 27 year old brought up his century of the bowling of Shoaib Bashir. He brought up the three-figure mark in 146 balls. Pant brought up the century with a one hand six off from Bashir’s delivery.
Rishabh Pant was overwhelmed by the applause of the Headingley crowd. Moments later, he brought out the somersault celebration and the entire Leeds crowd erupted in applause and cheers.
“One of the best hundred celebrations I have seen in my entire life,” said Ian Ward on air. Rishabh Pant came to bat in the third session on Day 01 and made his intentions clear.
Batting first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul opened the innings while Chris Woakes opned the bowling attack. Making a solid start, the opener duo posted 91 runs for the first wicket.
They went on to lose the wicket of Sai Sudharsan before the end of first session. However, Shubman Gill joined Jaiswal went on to play stellar knocks where the latter scored 101 runs before got dismissed by Stokes.
