Former India cricketer Kapil Dev has addressed Rohit Sharma’s poor form in recent times making Men in Blues side unsettled.
The legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev has highlighted Rohit Sharma‘s poor form as a major concern for India ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian skipper has been going through a poor run as he was dismissed cheaply for 2 runs off 7 deliveries in the first ODI against England.
Recently Kapil Dev shared his thoughts on the India captain’s performance and said that the team looks unsettled due to poor form.
“He (Rohit) is a big player. I hope he returns to form quickly. I will say good luck to the coach. It takes time to settle in. The whole country is looking forward to the side’s performance.”
“In recent times, the side played well for some time. The team looks unsettled. When the captain’s form is poor, the team has problems,” Kapil said on a YouTube channel.
Rohit played a pivotal role in the 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup and expected to play a similar role in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
Before that, the Indian captain will be needing to find his rhythm in the remaining two ODI matches against England on February 09 and 12 respectively.
Kapil Dev also addressed the fitness concerns surrounding key bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been sidelines due to a back injury since Janury.
Despite being named in the Champions Trophy 2025 squad, his availability remains about his availability.
“There is no doubt about that. In the last two years, no other fast bowler has had so much impact. When a big player like Bumrah, Anil Kumble, gets unfit, it does impact the team. I hope he recovers soon enough,” the legend added.
The upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start on February 19 will be critical test for Rohit Sharma and the Indian cricket team. India will play their first match against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium.
