For the Women’s side, England’s Tammy Beaumont and Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner were the nominees for their performance in the recently happened Ashes Test.

The third one was West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews to join the nominees list due to her performance in the ODI series against Ireland.

Ashleigh Gardner

In the Ashes 2023 Test between England and Australia which happened in the middle of June at Nottingham, Ash Gardner made her visitor’s side emerge victorious with a thrilling individual score of 89 runs, winning the Player of the Match.

Gardner was excellent throughout the series, giving 40 runs in Australia’s first innings total of 473. She also stunned the England batters with her bowling in both innings.

The 26-year-old, Gardner took four wickets giving 99 runs in the first innings, and was even more devastating in the second innings, taking eight for 66 runs single-handedly to win the Second Ashes Test.

Her remarkable skills in the Test series made her be a part of Nominees for the Player of the Month.

Tammy Beaumont

The England Opener Tammy Beaumont, scored a total run of 208 in their first innings of the Ashes Test series 2023, scoring the first double century in the Test by an England player pushing down the records of Betty Snowball’s 189 in 1935.

But it was a total collapse in the second innings as she scored 22 runs, Gardner’s bowling proved to be overpowering England’s batters, thus falling for 189 runs. She will be able to compete against Gardner for the Player of the Month, but taking down Tammy on both innings will favor Gardner in the selection.

Hayley Matthews

The 25-year-old West Indies Skipper Hayley Matthews had been excellent in the first two ODIs matches against Ireland. As she was the third-highest runner and wicket-taker for West Indies in ODIs and T20Is, Matthews had scored 109 out of 106 deliveries which made her side lead the first ODI.
