The New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr has been named the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year and won her first Racheal Heyhoe-Flint Trophy in the ICC Awards 2024 for an impressive performance in 2024.
Kerr becomes the first from her country to clinch the trophy after helping White Ferns to lift their maiden T20 World Cup in 2024.
Kerr had an impressive form in all three formats of the game throughout the year. Her brilliance proved to be a supporting hand for New Zealand team on various occasions and was considered as dangerous leg spinners in the world acting as the side’s go-to strike bowler.

Amelia Kerr amassed 387 runs and 29 wickets at an average of 15.55 in T20I format for the last calendar year. She was named as the player of the Match and tournament in ICC event last year and was the leading wicket-taker with 15 scalps at an average of 7.33.
Kerr had 264 runs and picked 14 wickets in ODIs which included four wicket haul against India and Australia.
“It’s a huge honour to win the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year,” Kerr said. “I guess for me individual awards aren’t something you think about much, but this is an extremely special one.
“It’s nice to be able to contribute for New Zealand, I guess that’s all any cricketer wants is to work hard and put out performances for their teammates. There are so many people that have helped me achieve what I have, and I’m very grateful for the support network I have around me.”
Kerr beat South Africa skipper Laura Wolvaardt, Sri Lanka captian Chamari Athapaththu and Australia all-rounder Annabel Sutherland to win the award.
