Gujarat Giants lost three wickets in the powerplay in a run chase against Mumbai Indians in the Eliminators of the WPL 2025 season on March 13 at Brarbourne Stadium.
They lost the wickets of Beth Mooney, Harleen Deol and Ashleigh Gardner cheaply in their big run chase of 213 runs against Mumbai.
However, they went on to score 46 runs in the powerplay. Shabnim Ismail dismissed Beth Mooney for 6 runs while Harleen Deol was dismissed on a run out.
Meanwhile, Hayley Matthews went on to dismiss Ashleigh Gardner for 8 runs. Dani Gibson and Phoebe Litchfield are aiming the revive the side from early dismissals in the match.
With Delhi Capitals securing a spot in the finals, the outcome of the match will get the second finalist of the season.
Mumbai Indians has already secured a 9-run victory against Gujarat Giants in the league stage matches and it will be interesting to see if they can replicate their win.

Batting first, Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia opened the innings for Mumbai while Kashvee Gautam opened the bowling attack. Aiming for a fiery start, Yastika Bhatita slammed 15 runs before being dismissed by Dani Gibson in the fifth over.
Nat Sciver-Brunt joined Hayley Matthews to score 37 runs in the powerplay. However, they went on to score 91 runs in 10 overs stabilising the innings.
Meanwhile Hayley Matthews slammed her fifty WPL fifty and also forged a 100 run partnership with Nat Sciver-Brunt. By the end of 16 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 159 runs for a wicket.
However Kavshee Gautam went on dismissed Hayley Matthews for 77 runs in the first ball of the 17th over. Nat Sciver-Brunt went on score 77 runs off 41 deliveries being being dismissed by Dani Gibson.
With Harmanpreet Kaur (36) and Sajeevan Sanjana (1), Mumbai Indians went on to score 213 runs for Gujarat Giants.
