Alyssa Healy feels that she missed former India test captain Virat Kohli thrived under such moments as the tourists made a fierce battle to clinch a win but suffered a narrow 22-run defeat in London.

The third test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy saw an unpleasant affair and dramas at Lord’s, which there were plenty of tense moments between the players of the two sides, including heated verbal exchanges and fiery send-offs, adding to the drama.

Shubman Gill has choicest words for England opener Zak Crawley after he took objection to him calling the team physio towards the end of play on Day 03, presumably for time-wasting.

During India’s chase 193 runs, Jofra Archer gave send fiery send-offs to Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar.

Ravindra Jadeja and Brydon Carse collided to the pitch while white-ball watching triggering a heated confrontation. The ICC fined Mohammed Siraj 15 percent of his match fee for celebrating in Ben Duckett’s face.

Australia captain Alyssa Healy recalled how India Test captain Virat Kohli would take the lead in these kinds of circumstances.

“The way with which the two teams were going about it, I could not stop watching. I loved it. It was spicy and I loved it. The chatter that was going on. I just thought of the contest itself. Entertaining, right?” said Healy.

“I shouldn’t be saying this for the sake of this current Indian team. But it made me miss Virat Kohli a little bit. I would imagine he would have absolutely thrived in that hostile environment, trying to save that Test match. But Jadeja tried his best,” she added.

Earlier this year, Virat Kohli has made a shocking retirement announcement via social media, bringing an end to a glorious career. However, former India cricketer Madan Lal has urged the batting superstar to reconsider his decision.

“Virat Kohli’s passion for Indian cricket was unmatched. It’s my wish that he should come back to Test cricket after retirement. There’s nothing wrong with returning. If not in this series, he should make a comeback in the next,” concluded Alyssa Healy.

The fourth test of the series will be played between July 23 and 27 at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.
