With only two weeks before the IPL 2026 auction, a total of 1355 players have registered for the event to be held on December 16 at Abu Dhabi.

After the player registration deadline for the 2026 IPL auction, it has emerged that an incredible number of 1355 cricketers have been named in the IPL 2026 auction players list for the world’s richest cricket league.

Surprisingly, Glenn Maxwell, who was expected to be one of the in-demand players at the next auction, has not registered for the auction.

Maxwell was one of the four marquee players to pull out of the upcoming IPL auction. With Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali deciding to play in the PSL 2026.

The 37-year-old joined Punjab Kings during the 2025 mega auction for the INR 4.2 crore, but didn’t play the full season for the Punjab Kings after sustaining an injury and was replaced by Mitch Owen, who was retained by the franchise.

Meanwhile, Andre Russell has retired from the tournament after being appointed as the power coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
