WPL 2025 Qualification Scenario: How Can MI, GG, RCB and UPW Qualify for Playoffs?

WPL 2025 Playoff Chances: The third edition of WPL has reached an interesting point with the league stage matches set to be completed on March 11.

The third leg of the WPL 2025 has already begun on March 03 where Gujarat Giants secured a promising victory against UP Warriorz.

The next four round-robin matches will be played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, while the other two will be hosted in the Brabourne Stadium.

Looking at the WPL 2025 points table after 15 matches, Delhi Capitals has qualified are the first team to confirm their berth in the playoffs with 10 points in seven matches.

WPL 2025 Qualification Scenario

WPL 2025 Qualification Scenario: With Delhi Capitals secured their berth in play offs, the other four teams will be battling for the remaining two spots.

The team finishing top in the points table will directly qualified for the finals. Meanwhile the second and third teams will face each other in the eliminators before the summit clash on March 15.

Qualification Scenario for Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians (MI) has three wins out of five matches and need atleast two wins to qualify with ten points. If they win all three remaining matches, they can top the table and go directly to the finals.

However, if they win against Gujarat Giants and lost against RCB and UPW, they’ll need a better Net Run Rate (NRR) to qualify.

Qualification Scenario for UP Warriorz

After a heavy defeat against Gujarat Giants, the UP Warriorz have slipped down to the last position on the table after having the same number of points as RCB with lower Net Run Rate.

Due to their poor run rate, UP Warriorz needs to win all their remaining matches against MI, and RCB to secure a berth in playoffs. However, their qualification depends upon RCB and MI to lose their respective matches.

Qualification Scenario for Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru has a tough path right as they are in the fourth position of the points table. The need to win their last two matches against UPW and MI to reach the playoffs.

If they finish with only six points, their top-three chances will reduce especially if two of UPW, MI, or GG get to eight points.

Qualification Scenario for Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants have a slightly better position than RCB and UP Warriorz. They have three wins and have two more matches and can finish with 10 points to confirm their place.

They need to beat both Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. If they beat either one of them, their qualification will depend on the other match results.

For GG to remain in contention, they have win a match against Mumbai and then hope the same team to beat UPW vs RCB.

WPL 2025 Playoff Schedule

Though the teams qualified for the will be announced after the end of their final matches, the schedule for the play offs will be announced later.
