Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen have forged a solid partnership in the side’s mammoth run chase against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025.

After the dismissal of Ryan Rickelton for 17 runs by Matt Henry, Bavuma and Rassie has helped the side to cross the 100-run mark. Bavuma has slammed his 7th ODI fifty off 64 deliveries in the match.

India already sealed their spot in the final by winning the first semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025. The winner of tonight’s game will face India in the grand final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on March 9 in Dubai.

South Africa and New Zealand have only met two times in the 2011 ODI World Cup and 2015 ODI World Cup where New Zealand secured the win on both occasions.

South Africa and New Zealand both have played 73 ODIs so far with South Africa leading the race with 42 wins while Kiwi managed to emerge victorious on 26 occasions.

Both teams have won this trophy, South Africa in 1998 and New Zealand in 2000, when it was still called the ICC Knockout. Notably, South Africa are the only country who have been represented in the knockout stages of the last seven ICC tournaments, regardless of age group or gender.

Speaking of the match, New Zealand batted first and secured 362 runs in their innings. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson’s centuries power the mammoth total in the semi final clash.

Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips 49 run scores each has deliberately pushed New Zealand’s total to cross 350 run mark.

Lungi Ngidi scalped three wickets for the side while Rabada dismissed two and Wiaan Mulder has one dismissal.
