Virat Kohli has climbed to the No. 4 spot in the ICC rankings for ODI batters after his heroic knock against Australia in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai.

The 36-year-old was awarded the Player of the Match on Tuesday, after scoring 84 runs off 98 deliveries which included five fours.

Currently, Virat Kohli is the third-highest run scorer of the ongoing tournament, having amassed 217 runs from four innings at an average of 72.33 and a strike rate of 83.14.

Kohli reclaimed his spot in the top five after the match against Mohammad Rizwan’s Pakistan where he scored an unbeaten 100.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma dropped two places down to No. 5 in the rankings. With Shubman Gill and Babar Azam has retained No. 1 and 2 positions with Heinrich Klaasen went to No.3.

Australia’s Steve Smith moved six spots to 16th, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson gained eight places to reach 29th spot in ICC rankings.

On the other hand, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai claimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI all-rounder rankings, to dethrone Mohammad Nabi.

India’s Axar Patel also made significant gains, jumping 17 spots to 13th place with a career-best 194 rating points.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Matt Henry rose three spots to third in the ODI bowling rankings, trailing Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.

India’s Mohammed Shami’s strong Champions Trophy performances against Bangladesh picking eight wickets in four matches has propelled him to 11th place, while Marco Jansen moved up nine spots to 18th place and Jofra Archer moved up 13 positions to 19th spot.
