BCCI Set To Hold T20 World Cup Disaster Review Meeting On January 1

November 10, 2022, becomes a date that none of Indian cricket fans wants to recall or remember. On this day, team India was eliminated from T20 World Cup 2022 after suffering an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against England in the 2nd semi-final of the tournament.

India made an impressive start by registering a victory against their arch-rival Pakistan in the thrilling final over match. Though India holds the top position in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Group B Points Table, they failed to make an entry to the final.

India faces a 10-wicket defeat against England and once again broke millions of Indian fans’ hearts. While everyone expects Rohit Sharma’s captaincy will bag them the ICC trophy which Indian fans expect since 2013.

Team India lifts their last ICC trophy under MS Dhoni in 2013 where he led the team to beat England in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2013.

Post the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final defeat, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid claims that an extensive experience of playing the Big Bash League in Australia contributed to Jos Buttler and Alex Hales’ absolute dominance over India.

As per a report, BCCI is set to hold a review meeting with Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid on the T20 World Cup disaster. National Cricket Academy chief VVS Laxman will also be a part of the review meeting.

The meeting will be staged just 2 days prior to the Sri Lanka series. The Sri Lankan cricket team is scheduled to tour India to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is between January 3 to January 15 next year.

Earlier a report states that BCCI is planning to introduce a new head coach for the T20I format.

Hardik Pandya-led Indian T20I team will face Sri Lanka to play the first match of the series on January 3 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Following the 3-match T20I series, Rohit Sharma led Indian ODI team will play a 3-match ODI series.
