“Wrapped Him With My Sheet”, Says Bus Driver Who Reached Rishabh Following His Car Crash

Right after the heartbreaking news of the Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s near-fatal car accident, the cricket world was stunned and felt relaxed after the release of the positive news regarding Pant’s condition.

Bus Driver Helped Rishabh Pant After The Car Crash

Even BCCI released a statement regarding Rishabh Pant’s injury right after his car crash video leaked on social media.

The incident took place between 5:30-6:00 AM while Pant travels from Delhi to his residence in Roorkee. Pant suffered multiple injuries when his BMW car collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant suffered injuries on his head, back and feet but is in stable condition.

The first man who reached Rishabh Pant, A bus driver says “I saw the car came & hit on divider & Rishabh was badly injured & he had come out of car & then I stopped bus & immediately went to him, I made him lie down in a safe place & wrapped him with my sheet & then call ambulance”.

Pant has been rescued by the local people and admitted to the hospital. “Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car met with an accident at around 5:30 am,” Director General of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar, was quoted as saying by the media.

“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment”, a BCCI statement reads regarding his injury.

Rishabh Pant most recently played in the Test series against Bangladesh and scored 93 runs in India’s victory in Dhaka. The 25-year-old Pant’s name has not been included in India’s upcoming home white-ball series against Sri Lanka which starts on January 3, 2023.

Notably, Pant was scheduled to report to the NCA for Strength & Conditioning work ahead of the Test series against Australia scheduled to begin on February 9.
