Scott Styris Named Best Skipper

New Zealand former all-rounder Scott Styris named Stephen Fleming as the best captain he came across. Scott Styris played under Fleming for the New Zealand cricket team. Scott is currently residing in UAE as a member of the commentary panel for the Indian Premier League.

Styris, who has played a lot of cricket with Fleming, said the focus should be on why he has lost his cool so often this year.

Scott Styris points Fleming as best

Styris said: “Stephen Fleming is the best captain I’ve come across. And he coaches the way he captained,” Styris said on Star Sports. “It’s happened a lot (in the past too). But I think we got to focus on why he was grumpy. He talked about the processes, he wasn’t happy with it, those are the little things you can control whether you win or lose.”

Fleming has been in news for losing his cool during a press conference in the on-going Indian Premier League. This is after CSK’s disappointing run in IPL 2020.

To this Styris said: “It’s happened a lot (in the past too). But I think we got to focus on why he was grumpy. He talked about the processes, he wasn’t happy with it, those are the little things you can control whether you win or lose.”

Scott Styris has opined that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might be facing their most challenging time ever, considering the withdrawals of two of their stalwarts in Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh from IPL 2020.

“Tough one, isn’t it. Player of that class, the player who has been so good for so long who can suddenly find those runs. And even in the field, the odd over as well with the ball. It is going to be a big task. And I know the CSK squad is deep, they have got a lot of options at the top.”

Brain Lara comment on CSK

During the show, his co-commentator Brian Lara said Fleming just wants to get the best out of CSK players. “He will be a little animated. He wants to get the best out of his players. He can’t do it himself,” Lara said.

Chennai Super Kings were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders making it their fourth loss in IPL 2020.
