Gujarat Titans kick-started their IPL 2024 campaign with a 6-run victory against Mumbai Indians in their home venue – Ahmedabad. But the Gill and Co failed to maintain their winning phase in their next game against CSK on March 26 in Chennai.

In their 3rd game of the season which was played against SRH, Gujarat Titans won the game by 7 wickets.

In the three matches Gujarat Titans played, Gill failed to make an impact with the bat as the new skipper. Gill scored 31(vs MI), 8(vs CSK), and 36(vs SRH) in his first three games. As the tournament progresses, the skipper gets under pressure to showcase some match-winning knocks.

In Gujarat’s fourth game of the season which was played against Punjab Kings, Gill scored his maiden half-century of the season and showed some aggression with his bat. Gill continued his steady inning and went on to score an unbeaten 89 runs in 48 deliveries at a strike rate of 185.42.

With his unbeaten 89, Shubman Gill becomes the highest run-getter of the season(as of now) surpassing Sunil Narine’s 85 vs Delhi Capitals.
