The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed that Shubman Gill and Alana King have been named as the ICC Men’s and Women’s Players of the Month for February 2025.
Gill claims the award after overcoming fellow players Glenn Phillips and Steve Smith. The Indian batter receives the award after a string of impressive performances with the bat in the ODi series against England and a stellar century in the opening victory over Bangladesh in Dubai.
Shubman Gill has 406 runs in the calendar month has an average of 100 and secured a top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batter Rankings.
His 101* stand against Bangladesh under the lights in Dubai to chase down 229 runs for victory.
“I am elated to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February. Nothing gives me more motivation than performing with the bat and winning matches for my country,” said Gill.

“The lead up to the Champions Trophy 2025 was very crucial and I am glad I was able to make the most out of it. It has been a phenomenal start to the year individually as well as for us as a unit.”
“I am looking forward to an action-packed cricketing year ahead and hope to win many more matches for India.” concluded Gill.
Meanwhile Alana King becomes the third successive Australian to be named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month with her profilic bowling spells in the Ashes Test match victory over rivals England in Melbourne.
She over came her compatriot Annabel Sutherland and Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong to claim Women’s Player of the Month award.
Her bowling displays in Ashes has included dismissals of Sciver-Brunt, Dunkley and Danni Wyatt in the first innings and Tammy Beaumont in the second innings.
“It’s been a big summer for the girls and we’re obviously really pleased to have retained the Ashes the way we did.
“I was proud to have played a role in that success and will remember that series, in particular the Test match for a long time. There’s no bigger stage than an Ashes Test on the MCG and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it,” concluded King.
