Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals have registered a comfortable 20-run victory in their first game of the season played against LSG in Jaipur.

Sanju Samson Shines in RR’s first victory of the season

As per the IPL 2024 schedule, Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to face Lucknow Super Giants to play the 4th match of the season on March 24 in Jaipur.

During his impressive 82, Sanju Samson becomes the first Indian to score a half-century in the IPL 2024 season.

Speaking of the game, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bat first. As expected Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened the attack while Mohsin Khan opened the inning on behalf of the Lucknow Super Giants.

Buttler who bagged the orange cap for the IPL 2022 season failed to make an aggressive start. After hitting a couple of boundaries in the 2nd over, Buttler was dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq for 11 runs.

Naveen-ul-Haq bowled a fuller length delivery just outside off which gets a thick edge and lands in KL Rahul’s glove behind the stumps. Mohsin Khan dismissed the dangerous Jaiswal in the final ball of the 5th over who struck a six of the previous delivery.

Riyan Parag who scored 1130 runs in 32 innings at an average of 47.08 while playing at no. 4 in SMAT scored a descent 43 runs off 29 balls in his outing for the RR.

At the end of 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals scored 193 runs for 4 wickets loss where RR’s skipper Sanju Samson remained unbeaten for 82 runs.

Quinton and KL Rahul opened the inning for LSG where the left-handed WK batter lost his wicket for just 4 runs and gave a struggled start to the team. The pressure loads up on LSG batters after Devdutt Padikkal and Ayush Badoni were dismissed for 0 and 1 runs respectively.

KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran joined hands when the team scored 60 runs for 4 wickets in 7.3 overs and added 85 runs to the LSG’s scoreboard.
