Gurumurthy Palani, Anurag Bhatnagar and Gurdeep Klair have been elected as ICC Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) members who will be decision makers of the board.
They have been elected among eight candidates during the annual conference in the ICC in Singapore opened with some significant election results.
The results will mark a major shift under ICC chairman Jay Shah, as the newly-formed committee is expected to play a significant role in enhancing the game worldwide.

Palani and Anurag won the poll with 28 votes, while Klair managed to secure 21 votes. Sumod Damodar who previously served for three terms on the CEC, received just only 16 votes this time around, from the 45-member committee.
The 45-member electoral group consisted of 40 associate members and five regional representatives from America, Asia, Europe, East-Pacific and Africa.
The newly elected members are now eligible to serve the CEC for a period of two years. Previous CEC members like Canada’s Rashpal Bajwa and Denmark’s Umair Butt pulled themselves out of the latest ICC elections.
Damodar said that he will continue his commitment towards the games. “My commitment to cricket will continue as the game is bigger than all else,” said Damodar.
It’s also the first major ICC AGM happening under chairman Jay Shah and newly appointed CEO Sanjog Gupta.
