    ICC Unveils Men’s Player of the Month Nominees for June 2026

    The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Men’s Player of the Month nominees for June 2026, which include Bangladesh all-rounder Mossadek Hossain, New Zealand pacer Nathan Smith and India captain Shubman Gill.

    The trio made match-winning performances during the month, playing key roles for their respective teams.

    Mosaddek Hossain (Bangladesh)

    Making his international return, Mossaddek Hossain made an impressive performance during Bangladesh’s 2-1 series win over Australia.

    Playing his international outing since November 2022, Mossaddek announced his return with an unbeaten 86 runs and two wickets.

    Across the three-match series, Mossaddek finished as Bangladesh’s leading run scorer with 157 runs including two half centuries.

    Nathan Smith (New Zealand)

    Nathan Smith had an impressive outing in June as he spearheaded New Zealand’s memorable 2-1 Test series victory in England.

    The pacer finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series with 16 wickets and was named Player of the series despite New Zealand losing the opening Test at Lord’s.

    His standout performance came in that very match where he claimed a total of 9 wickets. He continued to strike which guided New Zealand to bounce back in the test and seal a famous comeback series victory. Smith lead the depleted bowling attack and set the side towards victory.

    Shubman Gill (India)

    India’s ODI and test captain Shubman Gill had a brilliant outing in June where he scored a 126 runs against Afghanistan in the one-off test.

    The right hander also had an impressive outing in the ODI series scoring 238 runs in two innings. He smashed 84 runs off 66 deliveries in the first ODI and smashing 154 runs off 110 deliveries in the Lucknow ODIs.

    Player of the Month voting process

    The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted on by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.

    The ICC Voting Academy comprises renowned journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email, which accounts for 90% of the voting members.

    Fans registered with the ICC can also vote via the ICC website at icc-cricket.com/awards, which accounts for the remaining 10 per cent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
