The Lucknow Super Giants opening batter Mitchell Marsh went on to score a century during the IPL 2025 game against the Gujarat Titans on May 22 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

His impressive knock helped the side to post 235 runs in their 20-over innings on Thursday’s clash.

With Lucknow having been knocked out of the tournament, Gujarat Titans will be aiming for a win to secure a top-two spot in the IPL 2025 points table.

Batting first, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened the attack while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack. The batting duo went on to score 53 runs in the powerplay and went on to trouble GT bowlers.

However, Sai Kishore bagged the wicket of Markram in the 10th over. Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh went on to smash a fifty and with Pooran joining him, aiming for a mammoth total in the score card.

Marsh went on to hit a century and Pooran hit his fifty which included four fours and four sixes. Mitchell Marsh went on to score 117 runs off 64 deliveries which included 10 fours and 8 sixes before being dismissed by Arshad Khan.

With Luckow lost their second wicket for 212 runs, Rishabh Pant walked in aiming to complete the innings at high. By the end of 20 overs, Pooran and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten with 56 and 16 respectively.

Speaking at the toss, Shubman Gill said, “We’ll bowl first, looks like a good wicket. Will be good to have a target on the board. We want momentum heading into the qualifiers, these two games are going to be equally important.”

(On partnership with Sai Sudharsan) “The way we compliment each other is great, we don’t have conversations on who will take down the bowlers. We just play with a positive intent and stay in the moment. No changes,” concluded Shubman Gill.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant said, “Would have bowled first, looks a good wicket. There is a challenge when you are already eliminated, but we take pride in playing cricket.”

“As a team, we are trying different options that give ourselves the best chance of winning. Anything that could help us prepare for next season. Akash Deep comes in, and a few more changes for us,” concluded Rishabh Pant.
