Keshav Maharaj has revealed South Africa playing 11 for the first Zimbabwe test where three players includind Dewald Brevis are set to make their test debut.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Codi Yusuf are the other debutant named in the proteas playing 11 for the opener test.
The Proteas are set to play two match test series in South Africa tour of Zimbabwe ahead of the T20I tri-series 2025 involving New Zealand.
South Africa’s full time skipper Temba Bavuma has been ruled out due to hamstring injury and Keshav Maharaj will lead the young team in his absence.

After claiming ultimate glory in the WTC 2025 finals, South Africa are set to begin a era in new WTC cycle 2025-27 against neighbours Zimbabwe.
These two countries haven’t met in a test format since December 2017 and only Keshav Maharaj, Craig Ervine and Blessing Muzarabani ware the ones who played in the fixture.
With Tony de Zorzi and Matthew Breetzke being the designated openers, Wiaan Mulder will continue to bat at No.3 with David Bedinghan promoted to no.4 position.
Debutants Lhuan dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis will occupy no.5 and 6 respevtively. With Kyle Verreynne keeping the wickets, Corbin Bosch, Codi Yusuf, Kwena Maphaka and Maharaj will fill in the bowling department.
Only four members that featured in the WTC finals against Australia at Lord’s will feature in this test for South Africa. The first match of the test series will be played on Queen Sports Club, Bulawayo.
