WI vs AUS 1st Test Highlights
Day 01
- Batting first, Australia went on to lose three wickets before being crossing 100 run mark. However, Travis Head’s 59 runs off 78 deliveries helped the side to stabilize the innings.
- However, Australia scored only 150 runs in their first innings and West Indies went on to start their innings where they lost four wickets and scored 57 runs by the end of day 01.
- Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph did the cleaning picking 5 and 4 wickets respectively.
Day 02
- Resuming their innings, West Indies went on to lose all 10 wickets for scoring 190 runs. Mitchell Starc picked three wickets while Hazlewood, Cummins and Webster picked 2 wickets each.
- Starting their second innings, Australia top order collapsed cheaply, while they lost four wickets for 92 runs by the end of day 02.
Day 03
- Resuming the game on day 03, the middle order Travis Head, Webster and Alex Carey went on to made half centuries each to help the side to cross 300 run mark. They went on to score 310 runs in the game in their innings with Shamar Joseph picked five wicket haul while Alzarri Joseph picked two wickets while Jayden Seales, Justin Greaves and Roston Chase picked one wicket each.
- With a target of 300 runs, West Indies started their innings and faced a collaspe where the scored only 141 runs in their innings and lost the game by 159 runs.

Player of the Match
Travis Head | Australia
I would have liked to score a bit more, missed out on a few runs. The communication was important, the conditions were tricky and we did exceptionally well to get to 300 on that surface.
I was more positive on Day 1 when the game was up for the taking, last night I was desperate to end the day unbeaten, momentum was the key over here, we wanted to build a partnership, we were slow, but it worked out well (on his stand with Beau Webster).
He has played a great deal of FC cricket, has got experience in all conditions and situations. You tend to do well then and he took the responsibility.
I try to contribute every time I go out there, was disappointed at not making runs at Lords (in the WTC final) despite my good form, was nice to get runs and contribute to the team victory here.
