CSK Players leaving IPL 2024: The five times IPL title winners Chennai Super Kings will play the remainder of the IPL 2024 season without their two key players who returned home to begin their World Cup 2024 preparation.

With just a few days left for the IPL 2024 playoffs, multiple foreign players have returned home in order to join their national team’s preparation camp for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Apart from many other teams, Chennai Super Kings who are still waiting to confirm their IPL 2024 playoffs spot will be affected hugely without their key overseas players.

CSK’s key pace bowlers – Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman have left the Chennai Super Kings camp owing to various reasons while the management has confirmed their unavailability for the remainder of the season.

Along with the pacers, CSK’s allrounder Moeen Ali is also set to leave the camp in the near future.

Matheesha Pathirana returned to Sri Lanka to recover from a hamstring injury while Mustafizur returned to Bangladesh after his tenure with CSK ended on May 1.

The T20 World Cup 2024 has been scheduled to kickstart on June 1 with the final game on June 29. Though the dates of the IPL 2024 playoff will not collide with the ICC event, the national teams started to recall their T20 World Cup 2024 squad players in order to start their preparation for the tournament.

The Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024 will be played on May 21 while the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be played on May 22 and 24 respectively. The grand final of the tournament will be played on May 26 at Chepauk.
