Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin who recently struggled to find a rhythm in the ongoing IPL made a surprise comeback during match against PBKS by bagging two wickets in a single over.
During the CSK’s match against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur, Ashwin bowled the final over the first powerplay and returned with a score of 21. Ruturaj Gaikwad backed the senior bowler and let the all-rounder bowl the 8th over.
While Ashwin was preparing to bowl, commentators on the air revealed that MS Dhoni had some chat with Ashwin during the timeout.
In the second delivery of the over, Ashwin dismissed Nehal Wadhera for 9 runs and went to dismiss Maxwell for 1 run in the final ball of the over. With a coupe of wickets in a single over, Ashwin was pumped high so as CSK fans.
Speaking of the match, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for Punjab Kings while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.
Priyansh Arya kickstarted the innings with a six off the first delivery and became only the fourth batter to do so in IPL history.

Khaleel Ahmed on the second delivery, dropped Arya and made a massive blunter. Priyansh Arya continued to smash the bowler and managed to score 17 runs off the first over which included a no ball. In the very next over, Mukesh Choudhary dismissed Prabhsimran for duck and made an early breakthrough for CSK.
In the followed over, Khaleel Ahmed dismissed PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer for 9 runs and bagged the biggest wicket for CSK. Khaleel again in the fifth over dismissed Stoinis for 4 runs and loaded pressure over the PBKS batting lineup.
Though PBKS lost three wickets in five overs, Priyansh Arya on the other hand continued to strike aggressively and dragged PBKS to score 75 runs for three wickets at the end of first powerplay.
With six of the final delivery of the powerplay, Priyansh Aryabrings up his maiden IPL fifty in just 19 deliveries.

With Ashwin’s couple of dismissals in the 8th over, Punjab Kings managed to score 94 runs for five wickets at the end of 10 overs.
