The Ashes 2021-22 Squad and Schedule: ECB announces the squad and schedule for arch rivalry The Ashes series.

Australia are the defending holders of the Ashes going into the series, having won in 2017–18 with the 2019 Ashes series ending in a draw. Notably, the series will be part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Australia won the first Ashes trophy in 1882/83 series and Check The Ashes Winner’s list.

The series is scheduled to be played at five venues across Australia between 8 December 2021 and 18 January 2022. The five venues will be the Gabba, Adelaide Oval, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Sydney Cricket Ground, and the Perth Stadium. Check out the schedule for the The Ashes 2021-22:

The Ashes 2021-22 – Squad

Head coach Chris Silverwood has named a 17-player squad for the tour of Australia starting in November 2021. England have named a full-strength squad of available players for the Ashes but there is no place for Ben Stokes in the 17-man party.

Stokes was not considered for selection as he continues to take an indefinite break from cricket to manage his well-being.

Ten of the 17-man squad will be embarking on their first Ashes tour to Australia. That number includes Jos Buttler, the vice-captain, who was not selected for the 2017/18 series.

All of the squad have been capped at Test level which was something Chris Silverwood, the head coach, prioritised. He has long said that he did not want to take any players to Australia who might have to make their debuts in an Ashes Test match.
