The opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored his second Test century at Vizag Stadium after the dismissal of top-order batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

He reached the milestone on 151 deliveries. The batter scored 179* runs by the end of the day which includes 17 fours and five sixes. He is now 21 runs short of his double century.

If he smashes a double century, he will be the third youngest player to record a double century after Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli.

He smashed his first test century during the first test of India’s West Indies tour in 2023. He smashed 171 in the first innings of the match to help the side win by an innings and 32 runs. To be noted, it was his Test debut match.

After suffering a defeat in the first Test played at Hyderabad Stadium, India is looking for a victory in the second Test to level the series. India had many injury and withdrawal concerns before the second Test.

India chose to bat in the second Test at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium where the Mumbai Batter is set to bat after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

The top-order batters Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma’s dismissal proved the intensity of the England bowlers in the second Test.

In Particular, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma have been performing low in the first and second Tests.

Raja Patidar scored 32 runs on 72 deliveries during his test debut. Axar Patel and Srikar Bharat scored 27 and 17 runs before their dismissal. India finally scored 336 runs losing 6 wickets by the end of the day 01.

On the other hand, Shoaib Bashir who made his Test debut dismissed two batters in the match alongside Rehman Ahmed who also had two dismissals.
