RCB has ended their 16-year trophy drought after Smriti Mandhana led the side to victory in the finals.

Many Cricket names like Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle were thrilled to see the team finally bringing trophy to the home.

Virat Kohli took a social media handle to congratulate the women’s side for winning the title. He joined the side on Sunday as he was seen chatting with the players, including Smriti Mandhana whom he chatted in a video call.

RCB’s win was evident after the impressive knock of Ellyse Perry and bowling spells from Shreyanka Patil and Sophie Molineux in the finals at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

While speaking in the post-match conference Smriti Mandhana said, “I didn’t hear anything he was saying because it was too loud, he was like just thumbs up and I just did thumbs up, I will be meeting him. He looked happy. There was a bright smile.”

“I remember him coming last year and (doing) a little pep talk, which helped me personally as well as the whole team. He has been part of this franchise and I think he has been there for the past 15 years, so I could see that happiness on his face,” Mandhana said.

Glenn Maxwell has also taken his social media to express his joy about RCB winning the title in the women’s category.

On the other hand, Chris Gayle who played for RCB between 2011 and 2017 also tweeted his congratulations to the RCB women’s team.
