During the India tour of the West Indies, under Shikhar Dhawan, the men in blue were scheduled to play 3 ODI matches on July 22, 24, and 27 in Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

In the first ODI match, after winning the toss West Indies decides to bowl first. In the absence of star openers, Dhawan along with Shubman Gill opened the inning and laid a strong foundation by scoring 119 runs for the first wicket.

Following his dismissal, with Shreyas Iyer‘s 54 runs team India crossed 300 run mark and scored 308 runs with a boundary of the last delivery from Shardul Thakur.

“Disappointed not to get the 100 but it was a good effort by the team. We got a good score in the end. There were nerves in the end and did not expect it to turn that way. We kept our cool and one small change in the end where we pushed the fine leg back and that really helped us.

West Indies on the other hand gave nightmares to the Indian bowlers and leads the team to a situation where the Windies were in need of 15 runs off the last over.

Siraj who bowled the last over gave 10 runs off the first 5 deliveries and leads to a nail-biting situation where the host needed 5 runs off the final ball. READ: How to Watch West Indies vs India Live Telecast in India and in Your Location
