In a recent development, it has been revealed that Rohit Sharma-led India is set to leave for Dubai on February 15 to play in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Rohi Sharma and co are currently starring in the England Tour of India where the final ODI will be played on February 12.
The team will be resting for a couple of days and will leave for Dubai on Saturday for their first match against Bangladesh on February 20.
In a hybrid model, India will play all their matches in Dubai marking a change in the tournament’s format.
Ahead of their departure, the BCCI is expected to hold a press conference to outline their plans ahead of the marquee event. The Men in Blues will not play any warmup games, as all participating teams will gather in Pakistan for the tournament.
In another development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to announce the prize money for the Champions Trophy 2025 winner later this week.
Placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand, India will play their first match against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai. Meanwhile, South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan and England are placed in Group B.
The venue for the finals on India’s performance, if they reach the title decider , the final will be held in Dubai.
The high intense match against Pakistan will be played on February 23 and Men in Blues will complete their group stage matches against New Zealand on March 02.
The opener match of the season will be played between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19 at National Stadium Karachi.
