Pakistan went on to secure a win in the first T20I against the West Indies after a solid fifty from Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz’s three-wicket haul powered a 14-run victory at Florida.
Meanwhile, the West Indies went on to extend their horrible run in the format after the side suffered a clean sweep 0-5 defeat against Australia.
Batting first, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub went on to open the innings while Jediah Blades opened the bowling attack.
Despite Pakistan lost their first wicket for 26 runs, Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman went on to make a solid stand for the second wicket where Ayub slamed a ffity.
Holder dismissed the opener for 57 runs while Zaman and Hasan Nawaz scored 28 and 24 runs respectively before being dismissed by Shamar and Akeal Hosein.
After few contributions from Nawaz, Salman Agha, Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Haris, Pakistan went on to score 178 runs in their 20 over innings.
In the pursuit of chasing the target, Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew opened the innings while Shaheen Afridi opened the bowling attack.

The opening duo made a solid start posting 72 runs for the first wicket. Both wen on to score 35 runs and got dismissed in the 12th over by Mohammad Nawaz.
After their dismissal, West Indies batting lineup began to fall as Motie was sent on golden duck,while Hope was dismissed for 2 runs.
Saim Ayub who dismissed Hope went on to pick the wicket of Rutherford for 11 runs. After Chase and Shepherd got dismissed cheaply, Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph scored 30* and 21* but they could not yield win for the side as they scored only 164 runs in their 20 over innings.
Saim Ayub was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match conference, he said, It was a challenging pitch to bat, it was in our mind to build partnership and not panic. We have plans, but they’re flexible according to the moment.”
“We look at the conditions, decide our shots and strategy, it’s all about staying in the present moment. The pitch limited our shots, we needed to be a lot more focused. Whatever role my team demand, I’ll do it, it wasn’t my best bowling effort though,” he condluded.
As per the WI vs PAK 2025 schedule, the second match will be played on August 03 at Central Broward Regional Park.
