Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam attack, which claimed innocent lives and left many injured. The Indian Arm’s swift and decisive action aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK sending a strong message against terrorism.
India targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pok in a move described by the government as ‘focussed, measured and non-escalatory in nature.’
The joint operation involving the Army, Air Force and Navy – specifically struck terrorist infrastructure believed to be behind planned attacks on Indian soil.
Three major groups bases, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizbul Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were reportedly the attacked and destroyed.
Among the nine locations hit were Bahalwalpur, long suspected to be the hud of JeM operations since the 2019 Pulwama attack along with Muridke, Gulpur, Sawai, Bilal Camp, Barnala Camp, Sarjal Camp and Mehmoona Camp.
More than 80 terrorists involved with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in the Operation Sindoor. The government stated that military action was measured and that the targets were selected based on credible intelligence.
