KKR vs RR, GT vs DC Games Rescheduled due to Ram Navami Celebrations

BCCI has officially announced the rescheduling of the two matches of TATA IPL 2024 matches due to the Ram Navami Festivities on April 17.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India 2024 has revealed that the fixture of Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals on April 17 will be preponded and will be played on April 16.

BCCI has swapped the games on April 16 and 17. Gujarat Titans who set to host Delhi Capitals on April 16 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the fixture is now likely to be postponed by a day on April 17.

Instead of Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad, the KKR vs RR game is now likely to be played on April 16 in Kolkata. This change in the schedule will not be a major challenge.

“Yes, the April 16 game between GT and DC is likely to be swapped with the April 17 game between KKR and RR. It shouldn’t be a big challenge since there is adequate spacing between fixtures of these teams and there is enough time to make the necessary changes/arrangements at the two venues,” said a source.

Due to elections, the Indian Cricket Board announced the schedule of IPL in two phases. While the first part of the IPL 2024 schedule has been revealed, the remainder was announced after the Election Commission of India announced the polling dates.

This annual festival is celebrated nationwide and authorities are unsure if they can provide adequate security during the festivities.

Recently, BCCI has arranged a meeting with IPL owners on April 16 to discuss various aspects of the Mega auction, Retentions, and Salary Cap for the next season.

KKR has secured the second position in the IPL 2024 point table. KKR has won two out of two games they played til now in the ongoing IPL campaign and will be facing Delhi Capitals on April 03 in home and away games.

KKR will be playing their next match against Delhi Capitals on April 03 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
