In a sudden turn of events, Ajinkya Rahane has been named as the captain for the franchise with Venkatesh Iyer named as vice-captain.
Joining the side during IPL 2022, he has captained the side for three years and led the side to victory during the 2024 season.
In the previous season, they finished the league stage at the 1st place with 9 wins and 3 defeats, garnering 20 points and securing their place in the Qualifiers 1. They entirely dominated SRH in the final and won the match by 8 wickets.

IPL 2025
As per IPL 2025 schedule the first match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 22 March 2025 in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to be played between 21 March and 25 May 2025 in India. IPL teams will be categorised into two groups of five teams where a total of 70 group matches will be played before the playoff round.
The IPL 2025 will follow a Group stage and Playoffs format with the top four teams in the IPL 2025 points table advancing to the playoffs round.
