The veteran batter Karun Nair is all set to be included in India A squad for the upcoming tour of England. India A team will be facing England Lions in two red-ball matches before the commencement of the senior team’s five-match test series against the host nation.
According to the reports, the BCCI selection committee was impressed with Karun Nair’s performance in the domestic circuit. In nine Ranji Trophy games, Nair hammered 863 runs including four centuries and two half centuries at an average of 53.93.
He is considered one of the leading contenders for a spot in the India A squad. Meanwhile, another report suggests that Legendary batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could represent the A side to regain form ahead of the England series.
Virat Kohli has scored only 190 runs at an average of 23.75 while Rohit Sharma scored only 31 runs in three matches at an average of 6.20.

Meanwhile, BCCI has also kept an eye on Jasprit Bumrah‘s recovery status. He was ruled out of the Champions Trophy and will not be playing the IPL 2025 due to back injury. If he fails to recover in time, the selectors have to find a replacement before the England tests.
“The first four-day match will be hosted at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury. The second match is scheduled to begin a week later on June 6 at the County Ground in Northampton,” the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.
The senior’s team campaign will begin on June 20 at the Headingley. Ahead of the series, which will mark the beginning of the 2025/27 World Test Championship Cycle, India A will play two tour games starting May 30.
