Jonny Bairstow has achieved an impressive milestone of 6000 test runs during the final test of the ongoing test series against India. He achieved this feat on his 100th test appearance after scoring 29 runs off 18 deliveries before getting out in the first innings.

Bairstow’s innings had a promising start in the match before getting dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. He was setting up a partnership with Joe Root but Kuldeep and Ashwin’s bowling attacks made England’s batting line-up crumble.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan was delighted about Jonny Bairstow’s 100th test saying, “Jonny Bairstow plays his 100th Test in Dharamsala, and I am delighted about that.”

“It’s a great triumph of resilience and, even in terms of sentiment, I believe that if you get to 99 caps you deserve the moment of your 100th.

However, you can’t escape that he could miss out on his 101st. He hasn’t played well enough across the 10 Tests he’s been back in the side, especially in India,” said Vaughan.

Batting first, England scored 218 runs where Zak Crawley was the only scorer smashing 79 runs on 108 deliveries including 11 fours and one six. Kuldeep Yadav collapsed the England’s top-order batting line-up.

Duckett, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Ben Foakes are the other scorers of the first innings of the fifth test. Kuldeep Yadav bagged five wickets while Ashwin became handy with his fourth test in his 100th test match.

England was sent out with 218 runs on the 58th over of the match. With a trail of 218 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma opened the innings on day 01 in the fifth test.

Their partnership made 100 runs on day 01 at the time of writing at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.
