    Jasprit Bumrah Retains Top Spot in ICC Test Bowler Rankings

    India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has retained his top position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler rankings which was released by the ICC on Wednesday.

    Following his exploits and player of the series awards in the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia, Bumrah climbed to the top spot in the red-ball bowler rankings.

    Bumrah’s 32 wickets in the five-match test series have given him the career-best rating at 907 points, which has gone up by a point to 908 in the latest update.

    Pat Cummins occupies the second position (841) with South African Kagiso Rabada (837) is in third place.

    Pakistani bowler Noman Ali (761) has moved into the top 10 following his impressive six-wicket performance in the opening test against West Indies at Multan.

    Meanwhile  the test all-rounders top 10 standings remains unchanged with Ravindra Jadeja (400) maintaining his top spot, followed by South Africa’s Marco Jansen (294) and Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan (263) in the second and third positions respectively.

    Naseem Shah and Dane Paterson have moved to 33rd and 46th position because of their performances in Centuries while Scott Boland of Australia.

    Meanwhile Brian Bennett of Zimbabwe moved to 94th position in the bowler rankings.

    On the other hand, Saud Shakeel has moved up to his career best sixht position after scoring 84 in the second innings. Meanwhile Steve Smith has advanced three places to seventh after scoring 140 while India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s scores of 84 and 82 have helped him reach fourth position with a career best 854 rating points.

    Meanwhile Aiden Markram’s player of the Match effort 89 and 37 in Centurion places him in 16th position while India’s Nitish Kumar Reddy is up 20 places to 53rd after a stunning century at number eight.

    Sean Williams’ 154 runs has taken him up 19th place with 653 points which is a highest by a batter form Zimbabwe since Brendon Taylor reached 684 back in 2014.

    Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi has surpassed their country’s previous highest score and were rewarded with gains to 52 and 57 spots respectively.

    Pathum Nissanka has moved to sixth place among batters while Mitchell Santner moved to ninth place while Matheesha Pathirana have moved up to the bowling rankings after the first two matches of their T20I series.
