With Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell’s half-centuries, the visitors scored 248 runs in 47.4 overs after losing all 10 wickets. Debutant Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja bagged three wickets each while Shami, Axar and Kuldeep Yadav bagged a wicket each.
After bowling seven overs at an economy of 5.30, Hardik Pandya returned wicketless. While chasing the decent target, Indian opening batters were expected to lay a strong foundation but failed to withstand England’s pace attack.
Jofra Archer is the man who took the first wicket of the inning by dismissing Jasiwal for 15 runs in the fifth over.
Archer teased Jaiswal on the outside edge multiple times and dismissed him successfully in the third delivery of the fifth over as the ball edged Jaiswal’s bat and went straight to the wicketkeeper’s hand.
In the very next over, Indian captain Rohit Sharma lost his wicket to Saqib Mahmood after scoring just 2 runs off seven balls.
