The Indian Cricket team has slipped to fourth spot in the latest ICC Test team rankings as England rose to second spot, taking over South Africa and Men in Blues, with Australia retaining its top spot.

However, the Men in Blues have maintained their spot in both ODI and T20Is. India’s drop comes after back-to-back losses against New Zealand and Australia. The Kiwis inflicted a historic whitewash on the Men in Blues, beating them by 3-0 for the first time on their home soil.

On the other hand, Australia beat them 3-1 in the five-match test series in 2024-25, which meant that India had to give up their hold on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy since 2017.

Apart from them, England has made a rapid rise in the rankings, climbing to the second spot with 113 ratings to their name. Ben Stokes-led side has reaped the reward of their series victories over West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

World Test Championship (WTC) defending champions Australia has 126 ratings at the top, while the finalist of the upcoming WTC final, South Africa slipped to the third spot with 111 ratings to their name.

There were various other changes in the ODI rankings as the Champions Trophy runner ups, New Zealand, surpassed Australia to take the second spot with 109 ratings.

Sri Lanka also continued their rapid rise in ODIs following series victoreis over India and Australia as they overtook Pakistan to occupy fourth spot with 104 ratings.

Afghanistan showed massive impreovement as they gained four points following a remarkable campaign in the Champions Trophy. They are now ranked above England on seventh spot with 91 ratings.

West Indies also rose to ninth spot after gaining five points and Bangladesh slipped to tenth after a four-point loss.

In the T20I rankings, Sri Lanka once again overtook Pakistan, being at the seventh spot with 235 ratings. For the first time ever, 100 teams featured in the annual update of the ICC T20I rankings, including all sides that have played a minimum of eight T20Is over the past three years.
