Harleen Deol was part of the Gujarat Giants squad during the WPL 2024 season. Deol injured her already strapped left knee while fielding in the very first over of the UP Warriorz’s chase where the latter won the match by 6 wickets.

The batting all-rounder hadn’t returned to action since then. Vidharbha batter Bharti Fulmali has been brought in as a replacement for the injured player.

Her absence has caught the attention of the team’s vice-captain Sneh Rana. Rana has missed the past two matches due to an undisclosed illness which raised concerns among fans.

However, the reports revealed that she is in the recovery process and might make a comeback for the next match of the franchise schedule.

Her return will significantly boost the team’s strength, offering leadership On and off the field. Gujarat will be clashing with Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2024 schedule on March 09.

Gujarat Giants has been struggling in the ongoing tournament with four defeats before securing a win against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 06.

Giants have been struggling with injury concerns as uncapped player Kashvee Gautam who was bought by the franchise for INR 2 crores was ruled out before the tournament.

On the other hand, Australia’s Lauren Cheatle has been in a medical procedure for the removal of skin cancer on her neck and was set to withdraw from WPL.

Lea Tahuhu was named as a replacement for Cheatle while Mumbai’s Sayali Sathgare was roped in to replace Kashvee Gautam in the squad. But she was brought into playing 11 for Dayalan Hemalatha as the first concussion substitute in WPL history.

Gujarat Giants has been placed last in the WPL points table. Kanwar was the leading wicket-taker for her franchise and was placed sixth on the list of most wickets in the tournament.

On the other hand, Mooney was the leading run scorer for the franchise and currently stands in eighth position in the list of most runs in the tournament. Gujarat Giants will be playing their next match against Mumbai Indians on March 09 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
