The all-rounder Gerhard Erasmus will be leading the Namibia squad for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be played in India and Sri Lanka.
Cricket Namibia has announced a strong and balanced all-rounder for the T20 World Cup 2026. The Namibia team also includes fellow experienced all-rounder in the form of Jan Frylinck, JJ Smith, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton and others.
Zane Green will continue to serve as Namibia’s primary wk-batter and the board also named young Alexander Busing-Volschenk as a travelling reserve.
The Namibia cricket team qualified for the ICC full form T20 World Cup 2026 by finishing runners-up at the ICC T20 World Cup Africa Regional finals in Zimbabwe a couple of months ago.
Placed in Group A alongside Netherlands, USA, Pakistan and tournament co-hosts India. During the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, the Namibia team notched up a solitary win, doing so against Oman in a thrilling super-over to finish fourth on group B points table.

Gary Kirsten has joined Namibia as a consultant for the tournament. Kirsten guided India to their historic 2011 World Cup triumph, will now lend his vast experience to Namibia’s journey at the showpiece event.
He will be working closely with Namibia head coach Craig Williams and assistant head coach Justin Kemp. The former Indian head coach’s presence will bring tactical sharpness, calm leadership guidance during the event.
“It is indeed a privilege to work with Cricket Namibia. I have been thoroughly impressed with the dedication and determination to create a high-performance cricket environment,” said Gary Kirsten.
“Their new state-of-the-art cricket stadium is a testament to their commitment to making sure their national teams are competing with the best cricket countries in the world. Their senior men’s national team is performing well, and I look forward to adding value to their preparation for the T20 World Cup in February next year.”
Namibia will play their opener match against Netherlands on February 10 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
