Faf du Plessis on Winning MLC 2023’s First Match: The first match of the much-awaited MLC 2023 has been played between Texas Super Kings and Los Angeles Knight Riders on July 13 in Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

The yellow team under Faf du Plessis won the inaugural match and kickstarted their MLC journey with a victory. Texas Super Kings defeated LA Knight Riders by 69 runs in the MLC’s first game and moves to the top position in MLC 2023 points table.
Many CSK’s former and current players like Faf du Plessis, Bravo, and D Conway featured in the MLC 2023 for Texas Super Kings.
As expected Texas Super Kings named Faf du Plessis as their captain. The explosive opener led the team towards an impressive victory on Texas Super Kings’ first game.
Winning the game, Texas Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis said, “Really pleased with the win. Good to see the local boys perform. Overseas players can win you a game but you always need the local boys to step up. He (Coetzee) is a really exciting talent. One of the talents that can play all formats”.

Texas Super Kings’ opener Devon Conway scored the first fifty of the MLC and laid a strong foundation for the team in their opening match. Miller with his 61 runs off 42 deliveries led Super Kings to score 181 runs for 6 wickets loss at the end of the first inning.
Chasing a target of 182 runs, LAKR were bowled out for 112 in 14 overs. Andre Russell showed some resistance with an impressive knock of 55 runs off 34 balls, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Jaskaran Malhotra also played a handy knock, contributing 22 runs off 11 deliveries. Meanwhile, Mohammad Mohsin bagged a four-wicket haul for TSK. For LAKR, Lockie Ferguson and Ali Khan took two wickets each.
