As per MLC 2023 schedule, the tournament’s first match is scheduled to play between Texas Super Kings and Los Angeles Knight Riders on July 13 in Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

Sunil Narine led Los Angeles Knight Riders faced a 69 runs defeat in their season’s opening match. Knight Riders failed to showcase their performance in both bat and ball. With the victory, Texas Super Kings move to the top position in MLC 2023 points table.

Winning the toss, Knight Riders decides to bowl first where Texas Super Kings scored 181 for 6 wickets loss at the end of the first inning.

“You are on the back foot if you lose three wickets in the powerplay in T20 cricket. If we had got a partnership you never know, anything could have happened. Probably gave 15-20 runs extra, but can’t point anyone. It’s a good sign that he (Russell) is in good form and hopefully he can continue”, Sunil Narine said.

Texas Super Kings’ opener Devon Conway scored the first fifty of the MLC, laying a strong foundation for the team in their opening match. Miller with his 61 runs off 42 deliveries led Super Kings to score 181 runs for 6 wickets loss at the end of the first inning.

Chasing a target of 182 runs, LAKR were bowled out for 112 in 14 overs. Andre Russell showed some resistance with an impressive knock of 55 runs off 34 balls, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Jaskaran Malhotra also played a handy knock, contributing 22 runs off 11 deliveries. Meanwhile, Mohammad Mohsin bagged a four-wicket haul for TSK. For LAKR, Lockie Ferguson and Ali Khan took two wickets each.
